Cover Artist Profile - Darwin Henry

Darwin Thomas Henry was born on the 17th November 1987 on a small farm on the outskirts of Oklahoma. Darwin's father intended him to help on the farm and had no plans on Darwin chosing another career pathway. Mr Henry aquired a taste for Rock and Roll music during a summer where he worked at a local guitar shop. Soon enough Darwin entered himself in guitar classes in his school, he hoarded his money together and bought a acoustic guitar, this is how Darwin spent most on his time, creating songs that would lead him on a path of fame. Henry surprised his teacher at his rapidly growing talent on the guitar and his song writing expertise. Darwin and a couple of friends from his class soon grouped together and formed an amateur rock band in the name of "The Dustbowls". They found little success together and soon the lead singer and guitarist Darwin Henry left. Henry spent the next two years trying to persuade his father to invest in a place at the world famous Julliard music school in the centre of New York. Darwin Thomas Henry's father was so against the idea that he smashed his sons acoustic and told him never to play again. With spirits crushed Darwin went to the local guitar shop and bought a new instrument, upon taking the new guitar home his father was impressed at his sons persistence. His father gifted him the money needed and wished him well in his studies. Henry studied for the following 4 years at the school where he soon made a name for himself. He played at venues throughout the city and became known for his outstanding live performances. He was spotted and signed for Pulse Music, this New York based production company helped further Darwin's music career as he found himself playing gigs across the United States. Darwin Henry's first hit song "Creek" achieved a number 3 spot in the charts and number 14 in England. With another quick release in the form of "Uneducated" Darwin's music attracted attention of the American audience. It was the success Darwin achieved with his debut album "Dear Father," that rocketed up to the top spot in the album charts. Darwins name was the height of talk throughout the country and bookings bombarded Mr Henry's agents. It only took him a following year to grasp the title of Best New comer and Best album in the American Music Awards. Darwin is now on tour throughout Britain to further his career over the pond, he will later be interviewed and will appear in a special addtion of England's famous "fiftyone" magazine.
